That would give you a hat size of about 7-1/2. Adding for skin and hair, maybe hat size 8-1/2.
I’m hat size 8, and I don’t have an obviously large head. I know people with heads much bigger than mine.

Singular oddities do not explain a different norm. What would be more definitive of a race of giants would be a single location that contained many “giant” skulls. “Andre the Giant” - I rest my case.

I have an unusually large head. It has been the subject of jokes since I was a child. I have a niece who was called the “head baby”. My youngest grandson has a head size that his pediatrician said was in the 99th percentile in head size, but that there was nothing wrong with him.
There is natural variation in head sizes, and certain ethnic groups tend to have larger heads. “Macrocephaly” is often a symptom of other conditions. Benign familial macrocephaly is an inherited condition. Some families are predisposed to having larger heads.
None of us is particularly tall or big. The primary disadvantages other than people sometimes making fun of us, are that it can be difficult to find helmets and hats that fit properly and that we are top heavy. As a kid I was often banging my large head against something.

You ever take notice of the proportions of a midget? Fat, stubby arms and legs, with a basketball for a head. They have enormous heads way out of proportion to the rest of the body. Bigger heads than normal growth humans.
I was just re-reading an old Stephen King book ‘From a Buick 8’. In it he references the ‘Cardiff Giant’ an old hoax from late 1800’s. Almost as remarkable as actual scientific finds are the lengths folks have gone to in faking them, and how long it took to determine they were hoaxes. The Piltdown Man lasted 40 years.
