Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib on Monday became the first active NFL player to come out as gay.
“What’s up people,” Nassib said in a video posted to Instagram on Monday. “I’m at my house in West Chester, Pennsylvania. I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now but finally feel comfortable getting it off my chest. I really have the best life, the best family, friends and job a guy can ask for.
“I’m a pretty private person so I hope you guys know that I’m not doing this for attention. I just think that representation and visibility are so important. I actually hope that one day, videos like this and the whole coming out process are not necessary, but until then I will do my best and my part to cultivate a culture that’s accepting and compassionate and I’m going to start by donating $100,000 to the Trevor Project. They’re an incredible organization, they’re the number one suicide-prevention service for LGBTQ youth in America.”

It's really not "brave" of him to say he's gay because he will get support from not only the NFL, but from his immediate employer (Raiders) as well. He certainly wont be forced out of his job over this and NONE of his peers would dare say anything that might be construed as "negative" about him being gay.
What WOULD be brave would be to "out" himself as a proud American citizen who loves GOD, his country, our flag, and supports "nuclear" families as well as military and our police. Doing that would cause him to be "canceled" and perhaps even forced out of his job. THAT, would be brave.

These grand announcements are so annoying. He should have just lived his gay life and if any media asked or pictures were psted, he should have said I’m gay, so what?

I would never teach my children that this behavior is normal or natural. But I would teach them that we should love everyone, and that while we may not condone someones actions we don’t have to “hate” them because their sins are different than ours.
Because the truth is, we all have skeletons in our closets, we are all sinners. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
Don’t be what the left claims we are, we are better than that.
You should respond by saying, “Well, Jesus can fix that. Would you like to pray?”
