I’ve never been much of a gambler, but gambling on sports I’ve done a time or two in my life...

Nothing super big, but one time I was in a NFL football pool, we had to put up $500 to get in, we had to pick every NFL game each weekend against the point spread set by a Las Vegas Sports book......

Every week it was amazing how accurate the Las Vegas bookies were and how games when the outcome was already determined where the money would change hands on a fumble or meaningless FG, etc.....

But if sports wagering was made easy in Florida I might dip my toes back in from time to time....

I live in Florida and I don’t like this gambling deal. It will bring corruption to our State down the road.

The legalization of gambling is one of those things that highlights the hypocrisy of the GOPee, even supposedly good guys like DeSantis. Why is it the case that legalized gambling is only allowed for Indian tribes? If it is approved for Indian tribes, then it should be approved for everyone. That’s what equality before the law means under the Constitution. But the Constitution is a dead letter now and has been for many years. Americans can’t even discern anymore when their lost freedom has been whittled away with the complicity of the GOPee. GOPee Delenda Est!

“Why is it the case that legalized gambling is only allowed for Indian tribes? “

Good question. In general, gambling is not allowed in Florida. The Seminole fake tribe allows it, and therefore controls it, on their several properties. And they are now enormously wealthy, and thoroughly corrupt.

Everytime a gambling bill comes up for the rest of FL, the tribe bribes everyone involved. Literal bags of cash mysteriously appear on people’s doorsteps.

I’m tired of this corrupt, wealthy tribe controlling all gambling in the state. Yes, they turn over plenty to the government, legal bribe, but it’s blatantly wrong.

If gambling was allowed everywhere, this state would be the wealthiest in the nation. And Jersey would crash and burn. So there’s mob money preventing it, too.

The Supreme Court vote to allow states to mandate sports betting was 6-3 as I recall. The two who voted in full were Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor. Stephen. Breyer had some sort of a split vote as I recall.

Different states have different language as it pertains to the issue now in their hands. Maryland gives some revenue to predominantly black colleges from what was written yesterday. I recall some debate from lefty voices saying legalized betting was sexist and even racist.
