The Queen has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be returning as working members of the Royal Family nearly a year after stepping down, Buckingham Palace said today.

The dramatic announcement was made in a palace statement at midday today, and sees the Sussexes quit for good more than one month before the one-year 'Megxit' review was due to be concluded on March 31.

Buckingham Palace referred to the Sussexes as 'much loved members of the family' and said it was 'saddened by their decision'. It also revealed the Queen had 'written confirming that in stepping away from the work of the Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service'.

The sad thing is that Harry was really good at being a royal. He seemed to really enjoy his role, and people really liked him. They’ve made a big deal of his supposed depression and unhappiness, but I think Markle cultivated his unhappiness because she was NEVER made for unselfish service. It was the wedge she used to pry him away from boring royal responsibilities that SHE didn’t want. The only one she really wants to serve is herself.

It was easier to be royalty/celebrity before mass and social media. Think of how much the Kennedys got away with.

Course, there's also the fact that if the press is covering for someone (Kennedys, Bidens) they can have a huge impact on public perception. I've never paid that much attention to Harry/Meghan, but it's clear the press is making hits on them. Yeah, she probably is exactly what you say, but if she was part of the protected class, it wouldn't get covered.

I don't know much about Harry...or Meghan. What little I know about him suggests that he's a decent sort. And what little I know about her suggests the opposite.

There's a video on youtube of Harry,in his British Army dress uniform,laying a wreath at our Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. I found it quite impressive.

Also,I don't know how old he was when his mother died but that couldn't have been easy for him...at all.Add his father's mistreatment of his mother and you have an early life that featured a good amount of difficulty.

I do hope that I'm wrong about her because he does,as I said,strike me as a decent guy.
