I am pretty sure they had much more advanced weaponry until some ingrates destroyed it all, killed the first born son of every native Egyptian and fled into the desert

But the Hittites stopped the Egyptians at Kadesh. According to archaeologists, the Hitties had chrome-plated swords. The Hittites appear also to have figured out how to make tungsten carbide by roasting the ore and reducing it with charcoal to form tungsten carbide at low temperatures. There are hundreds of tungsten ore deposits in Egypt. Tungsten carbide could have been use on saw blades teeth to cut granite. These Hittites were Not stupoid. There are apparently machine sawn stone blocks at Hattusha. If there was any iron used by either party, it rusts away to nothing after 2000 years.

The hook behind the khopesh’s point was used to grasp the top of an opponent’s shield and pull it down while the concave shape permitted a direct thrust at the now exposed enemy. Note the point is aligned with the handle. The sharp convex blade also greatly enhanced the weapon’s cutting and slicing abilities.
