Social media platform Parler jumped to the top downloaded app this weekend, as conservatives rally support to leave Facebook and Twitter over censorship.
“The media and the anti-Trump lunatics have awakened a sleeping giant. We gave a collective middle finger to the tech tyrants as Parler remains the NUMBER ONE most downloaded app in the world. Thank you!” conservative commentator Dan Bongino said Sunday morning.
Parler is in the top spot for most popular free apps on Apple as of Sunday morning, beating out TikTok and YouTube.
Parler was founded in 2018 and has been lauded as a platform that protects free speech.
“Parler is an unbiased social media focused on real user experiences and engagement. Our content is moderated based off the FCC and the Supreme Court of the United States which enables free expression without violence and a lack of censorship. Parler never shares your personal data,” the platform’s description reads.
Bongino announced a partnership with Parler in June, taking an ownership stake in the company.
I’ve decided it’s time to fight back against the Tech Tyrants. I’m beyond fed up with the censorship and bias of Twitter and Facebook, and I’m not going to stand back and watch as they target us. As a result, I’ve taken an ownership stake in Parler, the hottest social media alternative in the market right now,” Bongino said at the time.
Fellow conservatives, such as Mark Levin and Newt Gingrich, have called on others to give up Facebook and Twitter and move to the platform.
“Hurry and follow me at Parler. I’m trying to encourage as many of you as possible to immediately join me there as I may not stay at Facebook or Twitter if they continue censoring me. And one day, I’ll have left their platforms. Parler is a wonderful alternative and is growing, and we need you there ASAP. It believes in truly open speech. Thank you!” Levin said Sunday morning.
“As Twitter attempts to silence my views and opinions, I invite you to follow me on Parler,” Gingrich said on Thursday.
“If lukewarm churches had spoken out on what God expects from His people, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
My husband was so angry at our preacher last week because he didn’t even allude to the election two days away. Hubby didn’t even attend today.
When we were in CA, we attended two churches, and both pastors were bold about discussing politics, elections, etc. One of them even handed out lawn signs during morning service.
Weird that the CA preachers were bold, and the TN preachers are silent. I would expect the opposite.

The problem with Parler is they have a terrible interface. it needs to be totally redesigned.

I don’t like the design of Parler and the font is too pale. Twitter is much easier to navigate...but given who Twitter really is I’ll just deal with Parler issues.
broken for me right now. Been logging me out a few times a day for no reason. Features and pages won’t load 25% of the time.

Facebook is Satan’s website for many sordid reasons. Only a fool would give those creeps his personal information.
I signed up yesterday and have been playing with it every since. I’ve followed about 90 people so far, including Dan Bongino. He was tracking the signups. Yesterday, midday, Parler was #3 in internet app signups. By evening, it was #1 in signups!
Now Parler has crashed...LOL!
I’ve been on Parler since June. They don’t have the staffing or infrastructure to handle this amount traffic. Please give them time. I’m sure they are on it!
I think a good user guide on how to use Parler would help many too.

Gab is also an alternative, and they have been adding infrastructure to handle influx that they could see coming. You also can see their posts without signing up.

If Parker is relying on cloud infrastructure it’s DOA. Hopefully they understand that
Yes! I bet nobody has drawn more subscribers to Twitter than Trump has. It's the only I started using it.

I dropped Twatter months ago, and Facebook just yesterday. Will not go back to either. Both websites, along with others, are trying to steal this election. They both deserve to be shut down.
