Trump Slams Susan Collins For Opposing Amy Coney Barrett Vote Before Election
Daily Caller ^ | October 16,2020 | HENRY RODGERS

President Donald Trump slammed Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins for not being in favor of voting to confirm Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett until after Election Day.

In a tweet, Trump said he heard a “nasty rumor” that Collins will not be voting in favor of confirming Barrett. Collins said in September that she does not support voting to confirm a Supreme Court justice to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg until after the Nov. 3 elections.

“There is a nasty rumor out there that @SenatorCollins of Maine will not be supporting our great United States Supreme Court Nominee. Well, she didn’t support Healthcare or my opening up 5000 square miles of Ocean to Maine, so why should this be any different. Not worth the work!” Trump tweeted

The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on Barrett’s confirmation Oct. 22.

My liberal college professor friend is very impressed with ACB so the senators should be very careful.

Collins may be defeated due to her inability to support Trump’s agenda.

The membership of the respective houses choose their leadership.
The reason the leadership are Bush League Republicans reflects the membership.
We have failed to replace them with MAGA Republicans.

I hope she sees negative movement in the polls that causes reconsideration on the matter.

Everyone should support her, especially those who write laws and want them interpreted as written.

Were I a Maine voter, not voting for her this time around would certainly be on the table.

Luckily we have Joe Manchin on our side. It's funny but city elites make fun of West Virginians but in West Virginia they know abortion is killing a baby. There are no gray areas. Killin' is killin'. That's a hell of a lot smarter than any New York or California liberal or pointy headed college professor.

MAGA Republicans rarely win elections. That’s because the GOP is a globalist/corporatist party, and Donald Trump is one of the very few people who could ever run as a Republican and get lathe numbers of DEMOCRATS to vote for him.

Look at 2016 in Pennsylvania as a perfect example of this. Trump won in a heavily Democratic state by getting votes from a lot of people who wouldn’t vote for Pat Toomey in a thousand years.

Once I thought Collins was capable of decency.
Then she does this?

We must find a way to replace her ASAP. Primary her?

Manchin won’t vote for Barrett unless his vote won’t matter.
His principles are as flexible as Kamalalala was in her Willie Brown days.

We lost at least two GOP House members in 2016 because they refused to support Trump. It's what happens. Your base stays home or doesn't vote for you as a protest.

I don’t like her either, but she is a lot better than a dem. There is no way that she didn’t poll this decision.

She knows the republicans have the votes, and if it helps her reelection chances to vote no, then she should vote no.
Whether we like it or not, we need her to win to keep the Senate. Trump should sit this one out.

I don’t understand it. Collins did well on Kavanaugh. Quick confirmation of ACB would benefit America greatly, & go a long way toward restoring law and order. Benefiting America would also benefit Collins.

Maybe she’s tired of being in politics? Because it certainly looks like she’s committing political suicide.
