Important to me that chickens are not caged. Not a big fan of cruelty.
My chickens live in cages. They continue to live because left out they would be eaten. Their little pea brains cant understand cruelty. Their happy to eat anything they can find, and cluck like crazy mad-hatters over laying an egg.
Dont pat yourself on the back for buying cage free eggs. Your wasting your money.
And really looks appealing to me.
I have heard from a doctor that it is not the cholesterol that is bad - it is cholesterol that gets damaged due to inflammation. The damaged cholesterol then gets attached to arteries to “trap” them.
My mom died from cancer at 57. I am 69. She was not obese, but smoked, drank a bit, did not eat well, and did not exercise. Wish she had taken better care of herself.
3 strips of bacon have 12% of the daily value of cholesterol. So you need to limit yourself to 24 strips of bacon a day and not eat anything else which has cholesterol in it.
I recently had a blood test that revealed high cholesterol. My doc wanted to be put me on drugs, but I said that I wanted to try dieting instead. I have cut out bacon eggs which I had several times a week. Also I was advised by a friend to take Red Yeast Rice capsules which is a natural form of the common drug whose name escapes me I’m due for blood test in Nov to see if it worked.
Shortly after the high cholesterol test, i read that a study was released showing the common drugs used to combat high cholesterol had little effect on preventing heart problems.
cholesterol statin drugs tend to do bad things to your liver. My doc took me off them................
Aged 71 then, I got a stent six years ago, and prescribed Atorvastatin (Lipitor). Can I eat anything I want?
My cholesterol numbers improved dramatically (to perfect) eating 3 eggs daily and low carb
Liverwurst, yum.
Smoking probably helped her to stay trim. Theres always a trade off.
Glyphosate in your food causes several bad outcomes:
1. It suppresses the production of HCL in the lining of the stomach, which means that food is not properly digested, the undigested food feeds opportunistic pathogens which overgrow and produce toxic byproducts. i.e. H. Pylori in the stomach causes both ulcers and leakage of toxins and inflammatory peptides into the blood stream which cause much of the inflammation that underpins the formation of plaque to bandaid the problem, as well as many other auto-immune issues that arise from the immune system attacking foreign invading peptides that share very similar molecular structures with various human tissue.
2. It interrupts the Shikimate Pathway, which is a selling point for RoundUp because animal cells do not have it...only plants..which is how it kills them. But many if not all of the microbiome that exists in the gut do have the Shikimata Pathway. End result, the gut flora are severely impacted by Glyphosate/RoundUp. And they do a lot of good things for the human body.
That certainly doesn’t help matters.
That's nothing...
“Carbs also become triglycerides before becoming fat, unless they are first used by muscles as fuel.”
Yep, absolutely. In order of importance:
Triglycerides: Definitely want that minimized
HDL Cholesterol: Definitely good to maximize
LDL Cholesterol: Don’t worry about it*
*There are various types of LDL, but only the smallest type is threatening. Since typical tests don’t get into that level of detail, the number that they give you is essentially meaningless.
Dietary cholesterol affecting health is a myth.
In a week, I'll eat about two dozen eggs, a pound of cheese and at least two sticks of butter. My cholesterol has never been over 200.
An unhealthy lifestyle will raise cholesterol to unhealthy levels no matter how much you avoid dietary cholesterol.
*** “I used to love liver.....” ***
I still love Liver and is probably what my next meal will be
I used to love potatoes, rice and pasta but... I’m 70lbs lighter since ditching them, normal blood sugars, blood pressure and not carrying around that extra 70lbs does wonders for my energy
ZERO MEDS and that’s saying something at 65
2 years ago I was ready to pack it in and call it quits, now I’m starting a new business ... now I eat 1 meal a day or maybe once every 2 days and I never go hungry... my rule is if I am hungry I eat, if I am not I don’t... period (no scheduled meals)
PS Smoked Paprika on Eggs with Cheddar Cheese is so awesome and what I ate about 36hrs ago
“The chicken was involved, but the pig, he was committed!”
Unlike that guy (or girl) who said they so loved you they would die for you, but didn’t.... Bacons DID die for you.
Bacons love is real.
The EASY one to avoid is liver.
