Shooting them isn’t effective in significantly reducing the numbers. The sounder may have anywhere from half a dozen - 40 or more pigs.

Claymore?

Does this Pig Bomb mean another lockdown?

PS: If you don’t like wild meat, coyotes gotta eat too.

Like I said, :)

Side story: A friend and I were out hunting pigs, and the one that he shot with a 308 went down, but was struggling and had a small entrance/exit hole. The 45-70, well, it just made a mess of the one that I hit. Either way, the piggies went down, it was just a good thing the whole pack didn’t rush us, as there were 30 or so of them.

Hmm, is “wild pig” bacon any tastier than farmed pig bacon?

Depends.

Ours (not wild just sort of free range to clean up the mast) are really tasty but they have been neutered and they are harvested at nine months.

The older they are the less tasty the meat is and a boar can have a really strong flavor.

All for it, but not sure where to get them. My Walmart is out of stock Couple of M-60s might work too.

Traps are about the only thing that can make a serious dent in the pig population

Agreed.

There is a guy in Caddo Mills Tx that will take you up in a chopper with full auto guns, but traps are more effective and way cheaper

I have a friend that has 515 acres that does use traps for the feral pigs. But he will let me go out anytime I want to hunt. So far since May my shotgun leads my Henry Big Boy 8-6. It does a body good to contribute.
