The federal government is supposed to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans
When basic rights are being violated by the states, the federal government should not be rewarding those states with bailouts.
The right to freely worship is fundamental and it’s being flagrantly abridged in California and other states
There should be no federal covid subsidies for any state that persists in denying their citizens this most basic constitutional freedom
In an earlier era the federal government might have sent troops against a state that was holding its citizens hostage by suspending their core freedoms. The least Trump could do today is refuse to send bailouts or subsidies to governors who are suspending the bill of rights

Almost all large school districts are keeping the schools closed—except for those in NY (hybrid), GA, and FL.
The problem lies with the teachers’ unions. (And with some tyrannical governors such as Newsom in CA,)
You have to pressure the politicians to open the churches and the schools. Denying them money if they don’t change course is a powerful form of pressure
Yes—I just want to make sure all Freepers know that most K-12 is closed across the nation. As are 3/4 of US colleges and universities.
Very sad for all kids and young adults. They deserved better. Europe reopened everything.
I agree, they did not want any help with controlling the riots so let them rebuild their own cities.

The people are being punished by their governors. Trump should pressure the governors to change course, by denying them money if they don’t allow freedom again
We wouldn’t send subsidies to a governor who tried to segregate his schools. We’d send troops against him - Eisenhower did just that in Arkansas. Now, we’ve got governors who have suspended people’s First Amendment freedom of religion. They don’t deserve a dime until they obey the Constitution

Stimulus checks are for people, not states.
People in all states should get their stimulus checks, but no aid to states that keep schools and churches closed!!!!
People without work shouldn't be paid unless they paid into an unemployment insurance program. Otherwise they won't learn. Life isn't free.
