Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey told Just the News that his state will remain red even as it takes in individuals from blue areas like California and Chicago.
The Republican governor described Arizona as "reliably red" and "the land of Barry Goldwater."
He noted that people depart California and Chicago "for a reason."
"We've put common sense good policy in effect," Ducey said. "We've held our taxes low. We've reduced our regulation. We've made it a great place to live, work and play, and we're gonna keep it that way.
With only one exception when the state went to incumbent President Bill Clinton in 1996, Arizona has remained reliably red during every presidential contest from 1952 to 2016. In the 2020 race for president, however, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden currently leads President Trump by 3.7 points in the state, according to the widely cited Real Clear Politics polling average.
Arizona currently has one Democrat and one Republican senator. Incumbent Republican Martha McSally trails her 2020 opponent Mark Kelly by an average of 6.8 points, according to RCP, which rates the race a tossup.
During the interview with White House Correspondent Carrie Sheffield, Ducey also spoke about testing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who cares about testing? If you feel ill, take hydroxy and zinc or one of the alternatives, and your illness, if Covid, will never develop into anything more serious than a cold.
Just don’t wait until it does turn more serious.

And that’s from their “republican” governor.
I am not happy with Gov. Duceys dictates, for instance, he closed back down all gyms even though they were compliant in getting safe practices in place. and in AZ, we cannot go exercising outside because its a flipping 110-117 degrees outside. Our low of the day at 4:30 am is 91 degress, so he haas pissed off alot of gym goers who are stuck until he “deems” it safe to oppen up the gyms.
Ducey-will he or will he not run for the senate? Nothing matters.
The Arizona Sec of State’s website that registered Rs outnumber Ds by only about 130,000. Since 2018, the Ds have registered about 30,000 more than the Rs.
A big unknown is how the registered Unaffiliated voters split. They number about 1.1 million which is about the same as the two other major parties.
Good luck with that. America is BLUE. We have regions of red. America is a sh*tpot of blue and red. The reason the left hates Trump is because they are SHOCKED he won knowing full well that the country is destroyed as founded. I think less than 20% of the country are Patriots who are holding this country up lead by President Trump.
Why are you sorry? Don’t you remember who he was running against? A Bloomberg gun grabber the first time and a guy who wanted to throw open the border with Mexico the second time around. Ducey is a damn sight better than Newsome or Lujan also. Is he great? No, but they all suck outside of South Dakota right now.
