Going back to my “Everything you read in the press is a lie” maxim, I believe most of the biographies of these famous people are fictionalized accounts. Here, I’m speaking specifically of culturally relevant people after 1950.

I was happier after I read that Tech Giants were ordinary fools simply propped up in front of DARPA software to give the surveillance aspects of the projects a friendlier face. “Built it in their garage...” and other similar stories were just that, fictionalized accounts. Seemingly front men like Gates end up believing they are worth the attention paid them when in fact they are puppets.
