[Nice!]

For some reason, Normie Rowe’s Shaking All Over was chosen as the lead in track for the first episode of the crime drama - Underbelly - A Tale of Two Cities - that chronicles growth of heroin-centered organized crime in 70’s Australia.

Gritty and unsentimental portrayal (i.e. more like Goodfellas than the Godfather movies) that I thought was fast-paced and entertaining.

Midnight Oil.

“Beds Are Burning”.

Peter Garrett, very tall, very bald; a lawyer if I remember right.

Garrett is a weird guy, he became a member of Parliament(like a senator or something) and is a big green weenie, but he was great fronting Midnight Oil

Before Crocodile Dundee, Paul Hogan had a comedy/variety show in Australia. One of the recurring themes was how much Foster's he drank.

In high school we had an exchange student from Australia. One time he brought a tin of vegemite for us to try. This was right when Men at Work were hitting it big. Vegemite is a sort of yeast paste. If I could find it here, I'd buy a tin just to have it.

So yes, they really do eat and drink that stuff.

My Aussie BF introduced me to them and some others like Rolf Harris - used to sing stuff like that around an outback (Aussie = bush) campfire. That was several years ago though.

Skyhooks - A somewhat obscure band but is in the Australian music hall of fame.
