One thing I’m absolutely sure about is that the achievement gap has nothing to do with Black culture, parents, average IQ, or behavior.

In the end, NYT et al. really won’t care about the ‘achievement gap’ of black and brown children, all they want is for ‘white parents’ to fork out more money for the perceived sin of being white.
The NYT is declaring that black people cannot possibly be decent parents? Is that their claim? Are they tying this is to increased support for Planned Parenthood in ghetto areas? Or does that come later?

The idiot reporter had to reach back to one incident in 1963 and then extrapolate that onto to smear ALL schools and ALL White parents to make a twisted, ridiculous point.
Coming from the front lines: Any White (yes, capitalized) parent who sends his White child into a majority black school is committing child abuse.
Don’t believe me? Colin Flaherty of “White Girl Bleed A Lot” has thousands of examples of White children being beaten, abused, terrorized, assaulted and robbed at black schools while the authorities look the other way and say “Kids will be Kids!”

This is classic Collectivist reasoning - we should all be brought down to the lowest common denominator in the name of “equality”. We can’t have “Disparate Outcomes” after all, just ask Obama and Holder.
Has there been one proposal, even one suggestion from these Communist bastards about elevating the education levels of lower income inner city minorities? Challenging these young people to reach their potential as opposed to lowering expectations and standards to accommodate what is clearly assumed to be inherent inferiority?
This is all part of white privilege theory. The progressives believe privilege or a better word “success” in school, and life, is a zero sum game. It is not at all. Iy is not given or withheld. It is earned and family support is the basis for that success. Jewish, Indian, Chinese, Korean and many other ethnic groups practice this and are successful. Blacks do not as a general rule; nor do they value education in the same way other ethnic groups do.
But it has completely lost its way with this claptrap they are publishing today.

Defund the government mis-education system, give parents the tax money wasted on it, and let them choose a private school. Then we will see the truth.
I absolutely believe this. These white parents, who are married and got an education, are preventing black and brown people from getting an education and getting married.Why just yesterday, I myself forced 2 Hispanic couples from getting married. Yes I did.
Sounds like liberal white parents who move to exclusive white enclaves with the best schools for their kids and pay for extracurricular music lessons and sports camps to give them the best advantage, far away from the inner city, while lecturing their conservative relatives about black lives mattering are about to get their comeuppance. I’d love to see how my SIL reacts to this development but alas, I’ve been unfriended on FB for criticizing our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, so I’m not likely to find out.

It’s the Ambition Gap. One of the goals of Socialism is to discourage ambition and just take the crumbs the State will allow you to have.

I have had conversations with teachers and others who say that blacks do poorly because racist whites move out and abandon the area after blacks moved in. I always asked, isn’t it racist to think that blacks needs whites around for them to succeed? And why did the whites move away?
I watched this happen in a community I lived in over the past ten years. It was interesting and frightening to watch. At first, everyone was neighborly and there were no problems. Then fights started in schools. These fights always involved multiple black attackers going after one white kid, when they weren’t fighting each other. Class disruptions became daily events and soon no one was learning because the increasingly outrageous, rude, disrespectful behavior by some black students. This behavior necessitated the teacher continually dealing with them and not teaching, so no one was able to learn. The behavior was not amenable to correction, and the teachers and deans were afraid to deal with it for fear of being called racist. State test scores began to plummet and schools that once exceeded state standards were now deficient. White kids were afraid to go to school and weren’t learning.
White people started to leave the area. As they did, home prices began to drop. Some sellers started renting to section 8 clients, which brought people not invested in the neighborhood in, and their children who began tearing up the neighborhood. Crime went up and burglaries began to be common place. There was a big fight of 10 or more black males in the street a few doors down from me. My next door neighbor’s son was jumped by multiple attackers while playing basketball alone in his driveway. I cannot tell you how many times I had a conversation with neighbors who all said the same thing, “I just don’t feel safe. My kids can’t play outside, My kids are not learning at school”. They voted with their feet, and moved. That area is now 95% black. The vast majority of whites did not move because they were racist or blacks moved in. Many were welcoming or simply passively indifferent. But when they no longer felt safe, when their kids did not feel safe in school, and when their children were being denied an education by the uncivilized behavior and failure of adult educators to maintain order; they left.
Whites are not responsible for the behavior of blacks. They also should not sacrifice their kids education or the safety of their families on the altar of political correctness and wokeness. My desire for all those on the New York Times staff is to get to live in the hell that their policies and recommendations create.
