So, the Pension Board can’t meet because of covid 19, but disabled pensioners can be called back to service? There’s something wrong with this picture.

In the article, they go on to say the city attorney said these three disabled officers had already used $3.8 million in benefits (they are on the younger side of retirement). So, he said, the least they can do is cover for a few shifts while paying for their own moves and living expenses while having to fill in.

Wow. Just “wow.”

...and they're disabled, not retired. The other thing is that while even the military can recall someone to duty they can't force them to pass requalifications on things that they "just don't seem to get anymore".

No district attorney is going to want uncertified individuals handling driving, communications, evidence, bookings, prisoner transfer, and certainly not firearms. What good would they serve? building custodian?

Would their legitimate medication usage from their disability adversely affect their job performance, putting themselves or others at risk?
