People don’t have to move out of the new country, liberal or conservative. They would understand that they’re living under conditions and ideologies which they disagree with. It’s up to them whether they want to tolerate living that way. Except that, under socialism/communism, freedom of thought would be limited if allowed at all.

Economically, I don’t see anybody that believes in the free-market/capitalism system staying in the liberal area, and eventually, they would have to move to the area which is more agreeable to them.

The split doesn’t mean that people have to immediately leave and more to ‘where they belong’; that can happen in a span of years.

When it comes to the geographical split, perhaps it would have to be a split into 3 countries, with liberals staying put in the northeast and western areas. and conservatives taking over the south and central regions of the ‘old’ USA. The Illinois/Michigan areas can become part of Canada and good riddance to them.
