This movie absolutely NAILED the look and feel of 1976.
My brother does not get that 70s show.
I’m like dude, where you there?
16 1/2 years old to get a license in Massachusetts...I graduated in 1979 from East Bridgewater High (high) I made sure of it you might say.....you could have a warrant out in an adjacent county and they didn’t have the technology to find out...way more fun and free without being paranoid ...I saw and still do see things this way....Not a matter of growing up but keeping your freedom.....
Oh yeah I’m letting my hair grow again...(after 10 inches from the back cancer patients can have a blonde wig) ...tired of paying for conformity...I see where it gets wasted.

Different times. We got pulled with a case of beer by two undercover cops. “Gentlemen, you have two choices, you can go downtown and get booked for under age possession of alcoholic beverage or you can feed it to the gutter”. We dumped it, they left and we drove to the grocery and re-stocked and proceeded to the party.
Alright Alright Alright
Class of 76 here. Dazed and Confused nails it.
My kid saw the movie at college. “Is that what it was really like back then?”
Yep.
This movie nails it. I was a rising Senior in an Austin high school on the day that this movie was set in (May 1976). I know all the locations, loved the music, appreciated all the cool cars and totally got all the characters. Armadillo World Headquarters was rolling and Willie Nelson and the whole Redneck Rock scene was happening then. Drinking age was 18 (that really means 15) — there were some very large times in Austin back then.
