Flubros and Flubras! Day 69 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Wonderful sight for me yesterday - thousands of people packed like sardines at the beaches in Galveston, Texas. Not a single mask was to be seen anywhere. Thousands of people who live without fear is a great thing to see. I can’t imagine living in a state that keeps people from the sun and the waves in order to “protect” people from Coronavirus.

Another restriction that needs to go is the youth sports ban. How many people’s lives have been saved by shutting down youth sports for the past 2-3 months? The answer is a very low number and, in exchange, we have let many kids get unmotivated and fat.

Just over 500 dead yesterday - which beat the previous two month low from the day before.

And did y’all see the pics of the lines at the Charlotte Airport? And not everyone was wearing a mask.

“You decide to wear a mask or not, or the business owner can mandate it.”

“No shirt, no shoes, no service” - been mandated by businesses for decades already.

“it appears people have really started giving local and state “mandates” the collective finger.”

It’s heartening to see that the groups are primarily young people. Maybe they aren’t quite the snowflakes we accused them of being.

“Menards is a Great Lakes region “big box” store.
Started as a hardware store in Eau Claire WI”

Jeez, can still picture the guy in their ads and the jingle “save big money”. Annoying commercial.

“We had better accept them for a few years”

Hell, no!

“... or the business owner can mandate it.”

That can happen, and I hope their businesses fail miserably.

“Spend extra efforts keeping nursing homes free of Covid19”

Definitely. But do not restrict patients’ families from visiting and being as complely engaged as they want. The elimination of social interaction is killing the elderly.

‘We had better accept them for a few years until the Covid-madness wears thin.’

are you seriously suggesting we submit to bizarre authoritarian diktat for a period of years...?

how about maybe a few weeks, or is that too scary for you..?

That’s so funny. We both remember the exact same thing. Marketing obviously worked well. We are still talking about it 10 years later

“the local news Karen was breathless in her disgust “

The FNC “talent” was, too. After hearing frowning Caren Cavuto “tsk tsk”, and the chick Dr. Safire scold, we went to I.D.

I have no problem with masks either...if the person has a reason to wear them. But it is good to celebrate mass gatherings of people who don’t wear them.

Our church has been open for four weeks. No masks. No illness.

Not sure if it was master stroke or if it was due to birds chirping outside my room at my place in Galveston (got here yesterday).

‘No mask- So you won’t be allowed into sporting games, churches, some retail stores.’

the point is that’s not a sufficient reason for barring people from doing everyday activities...just because idiotic governor’s like flexing fascist muscle is not cause to grovel with wearing useless, respiration impairing, and downright ugly face coverings so we can pass muster with the government ticket takers...

“are you seriously suggesting we submit to bizarre authoritarian diktat for a period of years...?”

I have only listed private businesses and churches. If they exclude you because of refusing to wear a mask....This is not a government forcing you to submit.

I fact most of the retail businesses where I live, you must wear a mask to enter.

I think the mask thing will be the new front in this battle. The weird thing is that even the CDC is saying that the masks are essentially useless, except perhaps to reduce the droplet spread if an infected person sneezes, but otherwise neither block the virus from being inhaled or being exhaled In regular breathing. Unless you go to a full toxic materials mask and face shield, it does nothing except possibly concentrate the virus within the mask.

But people are ignoring this because the mask has basically become a symbol. It is symbolic of the wearer’s total allegiance to the socialist state.

I’m sure that there are people who wear it out of media induced fear but there are many others who wear it as a symbol that they’re with the Dem lockdown program. Bizarrely enough, people in some of the most locked down states, like NY, love their local dictators and see themselves as signaling their opposition to Trump by wearing a mask.

You are making a mistake. Sometimes masks are mandated by state or local governments. But even in the absence of such laws you will find some retail establishments mandating masks.

Obviously this all depends on where you live.

The guy who did the ads, Ray Szmanda, died in 2018. Annoying commercial, but it’s part of the past - even bad nostalgia can be nice sometimes.
