COVID-19 infection rates are allegedly falling in states that have lifted their coronavirus lockdown orders, according to a new study.Research from investment bank JP Morgan shows infection rates actually decreasing - rather than increasing as some warned - after lockdown measures had ended.

Either Spring with warner weather and more intense solar radiation (producing Vitamin D) has slowed the infection
or
There are millions of asymptomatic Americans that are building herd immunity.
I think it’s a combination of both. New York City is approaching herd immunity.
A story on my local ABC affiliate yesterday morning cited a WHO “study” claiming just the opposite - that infection rates were “soaring” in places where the lockdowns have been eased. I’ve been following the numbers on Worldometer, and I haven’t seen any evidence of “soaring” infections in places that are easing the lockdown restrictions.
This doesnt make any sense.
Even if it were the normal flu youd expect a small spike in the infected from opening up.
With the quarantine it shouldve gone down (it didnt) and now that were opening up it should go up (its not)
You could say its run its course but then you have Ford and Tyson closing plants because of outbreaks there in just the past few days.
Its almost as if certain areas get seeded...
I wish my Barber would open shop ,I’m looking shaggy
"Post hoc ergo propter hoc" is a fallacy.
Nope I have even seen claims that the USA has the highest death RATES. Um, no, not even close. It does have the highest number of deaths, so it is worth asking why the two largest countries in the world, India and China, have lower total deaths than the USA.
Doesn’t matter, we have to get back to work, no matter what happens. We can’t let the economy collapse anymore then it has. The virus is going to do what it will do.

Probably both.
Actually, while those may be true, the more obvious factors are:
1) We already infected and killed most of the people in nursing homes, so it’s like we got “herd immunity” for that group.
2) We also seem to have high infection and completion rates in prisons, which are another place where it was easy to get infected. Prisoners didn’t die, maybe because almost every prison supplements diet with vitamin D.
3) We are now letting people escape the places they were most likely to get infected — apartment buildings, condo complexes, and other places where poeple were packed in and locked down.
What we need, and what I don’t think we will get, is a comprehensive list of WHERE PEOPLE WERE WHEN THEY GOT INFECTED.
Armed with that data, people could make informed choices on what was the riskiest things to do.
My guess is that church services, playing on the beach, grocery shopping, and working out at the gym would all rank VERY LOW on the infection list. Of course, because of the lockdown we don’t have good data.
But in Virginia, the top 3 places you got infected where nursing homes, medical facilities, and apartment buildings. If we had a subway, it would probably have made that list, like in New York city.
The states won’t give us this information, even if they have it, because it would show that the lockdown increased the chance of infection in most places.
And looking at the data, you would probably conclude that the best thing we could do to stop infecting people would be to shut down all public transportation.
Ironic that nominally “locked down” NYC shows the quick spike with rapid falloff that you’d expect with a more open approach. Of course this isn’t surprising since NYC never closed their public transit — the ideal virus spreader — and thus were never really locked down. The result is they’ve more quickly approached herd immunity and are probably well positioned to avoid a “second wave”.
China lies, you can't believe anything they say. India is a good question though. Worth noting, perhaps, that as an equatorial nation they have historically had bad issues with malaria and many people there take HCQ as a matter of course as I understand it.
I see the resemblance
I told my NYC residing sister the same thing the other day. She was watching Fake News and they were scaring her about a second wave.
World odometer has useless data. It is obviously manipulated
Yes who knows China’s numbers. A snarky article in the UK Guardian about the nominal highest deaths in the USA. Funny they don’t mention the RATE of death is much higher in the UK.
