Brittney Valles, co-owner of the state-mandated takeout-only Guerrilla Tacos in Los Angeles, was concerned about her mother exposing herself to COVID-19 while shopping for essentials. Thats when the idea dawned on her: Why not get them from us? she tells CNN.
So Valles and her co-workers compiled an all-in-one emergency taco pack complete with 30 eggs and four rolls of bathroom tissue scrounged from their vacant restrooms. This past week alone, brawls over bathroom tissue have erupted at Australian stores, while Oregon authorities are urging the public to stop dialing 911 over the purported TP shortage.

Los Angeles Guerrilla Tacos from the Arts District
These people seem to be one of the hoarders who helped cause the TP shortage in the first place.
No they are not hoarders. If you have a restaurant it is common to have a large supply of TP for you restrooms. Now that nobody is coming in to eat it sounds like a good idea to me.
Ha, possibly the mom.
VP Pence should implore these closed restaurants to donate all of that extra TP.
But when do they distribute the Emergency Beer?!
Just order the tamales, lunch with a wipe!
Most taco joints should provide toilet paper with food.
Must be doing pretty well. Their website now shows that this “kit” is now a measly $149, instead of $150.
But, it now includes half as much salsa as before. More notably, the number of rolls of toilet paper has been cut by 75%...from 4 to 1.
4% add-on to the posted cost of the meal, couched as being almost a humanitarian gift from consumer to employee in order to cover health insurance?
Is this becoming common in the service industry? Methinks the tips given to employees might drop about 4% overall, as a result.
Why not just itemize all the costs of doing business, slash the price of the product, and then build it back up to the true price with multiple add-ons in small-print footnotes. 1% for this, 3% for that, etc.
I’d bet they could cut their large-print posted “prices” by 80-90%.
Booooo. :^)
Ha!
Great idea
That was just awful.
A pork roast kept wanting to fall out of the freezer last week so turned it into 3+ dozen tamales. Cheap enough and no emergency tp needed. Easy to microwave if we’re sick.
