Be careful about confirmation bias - consider Audrey Hepburn.

A lot can be explained by anorexia/malnutrition.

All the same, a lot of this would appear to be driven by the desire to make the girls look like boys (and vice versa).

Personally, I like the ladies to be feminine (Lynda Carter, Sophia Loren, etc., rawr!) :)

When the fashion world is dominated by gay men, the models end up looking like teenage boys. It’s not a coincidence.

Back in the '90s when Phil Gramm was running for the GOP nomination, a reporter asked him if he would consider a female running mate.

Sen. Gramm replied, "Is Sophia Loren available?"

I still chuckle when I think of it.
