Still showed 2118 cases and 56 deaths, which is what they were at at (I think) 10:30 AM US Eastern time.

For your numbers — add those to the ones I have

56/2118 deaths/case to 80/2499 deaths/case

I happened to have a scratch pad open from earlier where I was tracking (reported deaths)/(reported cases)

it went from

18/653 (2.75%)
to
26/881 (2.95%)
to
56/2118 (2.64%)
to — assuming I can add your stats to my most recent)
80/2499 (3.20%)

It is known that the confirmed cases are vastly unreported and the likely number is closer to 10k than 2.4k so the fatalities percentage is way off.

Almost doubles in number of deaths each day. I think this one is going to be nasty.

If you look at the numbers who have gone through the whole cycle of the virus and either survived or died that they know of....not good(that is where you should get the survivability ratio). But even then there is a problem because their numbers only reflect the ones who got sick enough to actually seek help.

I do not think you can count all the cases that are on going for anything but how fast this is spreading daily..

Some guy from china posted on twitter that one of his relatives was sick and an ambulance refused to come get them. Relative had all symptoms of coronavirus and died. Death was listed as pneumonia or flue, not coronavirus. I am sure there are many, many more deaths that are not being reported.

Also, the news starts out with ‘Nothing to be worried about’ so you know this is very bad. After the handwringing and doomsday reports abut SARS and swine flu, they are trying to stop a mass panic.
