Felicity Huffman, Cats, Joe Pesci, the Catholic Church, Judi Dench and James Corden got the Ricky Gervais treatment during the opening monologue of tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, but none took the brunt of the host’s jibes quite as sharply as Hollywood itself.
Casting the industry town as hypocritically woke – with a Jeffrey Epstein joke thrown in for good measure – the notoriously scathing British comic advised Golden Globe winners to skip the moralizing. Said Gervais, “Thank your agent and your God and…” The rest was bleeped, but he seemed to say something along the lines of “then get the [expletive] off the stage.”
“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” Gervais cautioned. “Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”
Apple TV’s woke The Morning Show, Gervais said, was “made by a company that runs sweat shops in China.”
Individual stars didn’t get through the opening monologue completely unscathed, if none were as skewered quite so efficiently as Gervais’ former punching bag Mel Gibson. Felicity Huffman, Gervais said, made the license plate on his car, Joe Pesci looks like Baby Yoda

Best opening monologue since George C Scott as “Patton”. That was just epic and the reactions from the hypocrites sitting at their tables were equally satisfying.
I didn’t see it cause I changed the channel at the beginning. But sounds like he told them off good.

How queer. The youtube stream was none of those things. It was merely copyright violation (complete with the ads).
Was it “deceptive practice” because some might have thought it was a legit authorized stream?
It wasn’t spam (advertising/clickbait) and it wasn’t a scam (separating viewers from their money).
So many Hollywood stars were there. I watched the clip posted here, because obviously I don’t usually watch this sh*t any more. They weren’t scowling, their eyes were looking back and forth while they had fake smiles on their faces & phony laughter. What was the purpose for this dress down?

She put it more subtly - her words were having a choice - basically saying if she had a kid she wouldn’t be where she is now.
