Unfortunately most women today don’t give men any reason to marry them....unless they’re on equal income gound. Otherwise men see them as a risk they think more than twice about. Once you’re in there’s no way out without “paying” big time.

You’ll be lucky if you get away with a one bedroom apartment and a beat up pick up truck! However in some cases that’s worth it rather than staying in it.

As a divorce lawyer, I see no reason for either sex to get the state involved with their lives. I recommend living together if you want. Have a commitment ceremony if you want. Don’t tie yourself legally to another idiot.

As a female who got burned in many ways by marriage, I do understand the men that feel this way. And I do too. I wish they would understand it’s a kind of person that abuses the hard work and sacrifice of the spouse, not a gender. Men are just as capable of abusing their spouses financially and emotionally. You have to be unkind, unfair, and very self absorbed. And both genders can achieve that.

Sad to see so many bad reviews of marriage. I am super thankful and haven’t got one complaint in 36 years with the most complete woman I’ve ever met. Now I am her caretaker in the belly crawl of chemo; a distinct privilege.

I was blessed. A Gf in college was a wealthy Chicago liberal. Very entitled. Didn't know what that was back then. By the time I graduated I did. Took some time but I remembered what their game was. Easy to walk away and upgrade to real women. Met a beautiful morena Latina at work one day. Over 25 years together now, two grown kids and seriously, we've never had a real fight. Variances in opinion that we work out like loving adults. Sounds like that's far more difficult to do these days.
