That doesn't stop many morons from shooting at movement rather than identifying their target.

When I started deer hunting at the age of 14 (the legal age for deer hunting in Michigan) my Dad gave me a pair of binoculars and told me to use them and never even raise my rifle until I knew for certain the thing I was looking at was a deer.

While laudable, this also conditions hunters to shoot at anything else not wearing it. There is no excuse for not positively identifying your target. If you can’t, get closer.

Some states don’t require that for muzzle loading or archery seasons.

I had on a red vest and an orange knit cap and had an idiot shooting at me - I could make him out clearly and he was in camo....can’t fix stupid.
