Cows missing for two months were located on North Carolinas Outer Banks after mini tsunami carried wildlife away...
They were presumed dead, but Cape Lookout National Seashore staff spotted one of the cows on another barrier island a month after the storm. That sighting was followed by two more, apparently grazing peaceably. A picture of the rangy-looking trio is now on Facebook.
Cows are recognized as adept swimmers comfortable with covering a few hundred yards. But swimming miles of open water in a hurricane is outside their general range of expertise.

Poor cows must have been pretty hungry and thirsty after such a swim.

My sister and family lived in Belgium for some years.
She said you had to be careful about ordering surf and turf, for you will receive a surf and saddle.

Deer are surprisingly good swimmers, too. I watched a brown bear swim across a mile wide inlet in SE Alaska way back when.
Maybe some of the 28 Banker Ponies from Cedar Island assumed to have drowned made it to Cape Lookout as well, it’s a very long island, uninhabited other than fishermen and a few park rangers. Those ponies may have been wild but they all were named, it really upset the residents on Cedar Island.
