Geez I always figured Todd to be a good guy at least he seemed like a good guy..what an absolute jackass..31 yrs of marriage and that is how he ends it..a freakin email..geez what the heck is wrong with him
Self-preservation. When it comes to these type of situations the confrontation is just not worth it. It is too easy for a woman to throw out a false accusation. If he broke up with her in person and the situation escalated , all would take would be for him to raise his voice slightly, for her to use that to get a restraining order. Seriously all the women has to do is break a fingernail while in the same room as a man and he can end up in jail.

I hope Sarah moves on. Marriage counseling is almost always “too late.”
Could just have been his way of getting her attention. I’ve seen this happen before. She said they were in counseling but often this is just to say they tried everything so they can walk away any way.
