“The difference this time is that most Chinese have smart phones that can video record and China will not be able to effectively censor evidence of their repression and murder.”
I’ve heard that the CUHK has networks that the ChiComs do not and can’t control and this is why they’ve targeted the university in this way. They want physical control of communication networks they can’t control.
See 62.
You’ve heard?
Them cats was fast as lightning
I see what you did there LOL
Later
Sadly, though the people of Hong Kong are willing to die for their freedom, they’ll never be able to hold out against Red China. Unless the world takes their part, which it won’t, it’s just a matter of time. China is a voracious, evil system that wants that 468+ square miles of real estate, and everything that goes with it, including total control of its population. The time to stand up to them, was before Britain agreed to give it away. But that was over 100 years ago. The Chinese are obviously not living up to their agreement to allow Hong Kong to have its own system of laws, etc., until 2047.
The strength and resolve of China to force it’s will on Hong Kong (and, really, anyone else it wants to) is, I believe, unmatched. (Other than God, Himself). They have been operating with one hand tied behind their back, which clutches a very large sword, with a sneering face, directed at us. They have been playing us, all along. I would sooner trust a rattlesnake, inches from my nose. I know that investors, bankers, and other high fliers have been singing China’s praises for many years, human rights be damned. I’ll admit, I don’t know beans about finance, but when I read that China owns most of our currency, and we are in hock to them, up to our eyeballs, it doesn’t take a genius to know who holds the whip hand.
Read.
You’re ChiCom.
Or a useful idiot.
Everyone in HK is antifa according to you.
You never know what will happen.
I never thought anything like this would happen.
I did, and I say again, there is no network the PRC can not shut down and completely isolate communications in and out of HK if they are so inclined, and no country outside of the region willing to take steps to prevent it.
You said you heard...That statement is kind of like all the whistle blowers and what they heard. Not something I’d bet my life on.
“did, and I say again, there is no network the PRC can not shut down and completely isolate communications in and out of HK if they are so inclined”
And you know that how?
I’m so glad we sent thousands of our factories and millions of jobs to China. See, efficient global business is more important that freedom. /sarc
A life time around electronic warfare...
“You said you heard...That statement is kind of like all the whistle blowers and what they heard. Not something Id bet my life on.”
Weird analogy.
People involved in HK have said the police are targeting this CUHK ability to communicate without being subject to control or shut down.
Maybe true or not true.
A university would be a place where such a network could exist.
Your certitude is not necessarily well founded.
But who knows for sure. Some people do. Not you or I.
You are correct.
We hold the whip hand.
China demands we pay our debt.
We press a computer button to create a few trillion more dollars, and hand it over to them via electronic transfer.
Done.
You could put all the resistance videos on one SD card and send it out by carrier pigeon.
SD cards are cheap.
The Chi-coms are not God.
