How Stephen King Predicted Trump's Rise Decades Ago
Author Stephen King predicted the rise of Trump 40 years ago but he says the reality is scarier than anything hes written.
In US news, Stephen King sat down with NowThis to talk about President Trump and the eerie similarities between Donald Trump and the Stephen King Dead Zone character 'Greg Stillson.' Dead Zone is a novel King wrote in 1979, it features a a politician Greg Stillson, Donald Trump like in many ways. The Greg Stillson Trump similarities include his outlandish behavior and rise to power that is similar to the rise of Trump and the rise of Trumpism. But according to Stephen King, Donald Trump in reality is even scarier than what he wrote. Stephen King adaptations are extremely popular in movies and TV these days, and he continues to write books like The Shining sequel of sorts Doctor Sleep.

Stillson was like every Dem candidate for President.
Absolutely!
That old fossil - who on earth even finds him interesting to talk to or listen to today? I shouldn’t say that as I’m lots older than he is but I don’t consider my ramblings worth anyone’s time.
I remember Cujo, The Shining and that thing that took place in the desert (The Stand?) but after that, he held no interest for me.
Yup.
Stephen King is an angry, bitter Never Trumper......
.....plus hes sickly weird
King was probably coked out his mind at the time. He doesnt remember a lot of the stuff he wrote back then (he mentions a few times that he doesn’t even remember directing maximum overdrive....though thats probably for the best)
Obviously Stillson was more Clinton than Trump seeing as Clinton was openly running on starting a war with the second largest nuclear power on the planet.
At the time, I thought Stillson was very much like Bill Clinton. He was nothing like President Trump, quite the opposite.
I’ve read all of Kings books and clicked twice on the link.
Life is too short for conservative virtue-signalling...
King does not know History
Stillson is clearly a Democrat.
In the Movie Stillson wants to start a Nuclear War
Real History
Over 98% of all American Combat Deaths are from Democrat War.
Civil War......Davis (D)
WW1...........Wilson (D)
WW2...........FDR (D)
Korea..........Truman (D)
Vietnam.......LBJ (D)
The Only Person on the Planet to use Atomics on Cities was Democrat
The only one by King I liked was Christine and that was the movie version of the book. I did read the book later and hated it.
Yep.
"NOW THIS" is AL JAZEERA!
Uncle Stevie just hasn’t been the same since that minivan slammed into him, tossed him into a ditch, and almost killed him twenty years back.
Coming from an author who wrote about a bunch of preteens having an orgy to unite them as one.
Agree - movie better than the book.
Stillson wasn’t a Hitler-type. He was a weak leader who eventually had to resort to nuclear weapons.
A study was done decades ago through the DoD. They set out to determine the results of strong leadership vs weak leadership. Generally, they ran wartime scenarios for conservative and liberal teams. The liberal teams always had to go nuclear first. Why? They didn’t deal with problems when they were manageable so they eventually painted themselves into a corner.
Alexandra Paul was PFF. She kind of went off the deep end though.
It funny
We are at peace
Incredible time of prosperity
Getting treated fairly in trade
Race relations slowly normalizing
Exposing corruption in DC
No new wars I. 3 years
Exposing DNC nad media lies
And yet to this moron has been writer, he envisions it equal to Satan taking a ghost pepper diarrhea dump down the throats of America. Makes me wonder how delusional one has to be to see how NY, CA and CO are being ran into the ground is paradise to them.
Watched it for the first time earlier tonight.
