I’m like you; I don’t make a whole lot of demands on electronics. I picked up a refurbed Dell off Walmart’s website for about $100. Been using it fine now for three years.
Good time to get a new one — ‘tis the season! :D
Those Dell refurbs are the best. I bought the Ex one off of Amazon for $170. It has a Quad Core i7, 8GB of RAM. I upgraded the RAM to 16GB with some sticks I had laying around and put her old computer’s 1TB SSD into it and now it’s Smokin.

Search for computer repairs.
We’ve found two used and rebuilt/reconditioned computers when our two originals crashed and burned. Used them both for four plus years and have yet to experience any problems.
Each computer purchased was $100. He also had reconditioned/repaired monitors and keyboards for minimal funds.
PS This particular entrepreneur was a “Gem”, Jimmy Dean. Seriously, he was found as his business was advertised on local tv. He was able to transfer our old ‘puter’ information into the newer one purchased.
Search the ads on the upcoming sales the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Good luck in your quest.
That is what I was going to say.
I had one for quite awhile before my employer gave me a new laptop.
I like picking up used Dell business class machines off eBay ... can’t seem to ‘kill’ this Core-2 Duo Optiplex I picked up 5 yrs ago ...
