Viewers of Dancing with the Stars experienced a mass meltdown Monday night after former White House press secretary Sean Spicer lived to dance another week, forcing some to even question how Democrats will win in 2020 “if we can’t even get Sean Spicer off” the show.

Tom Bergeron was such a a$$hole about Sean coming on. He didn’t was it to be political. Sean barely mentions his life at WH. He does recall his Navy Reserves career and how greatful he is for his wife and family. He’s an awful dancer, bless his heart. But he’s having fun. TB and the judges are apoplectic at letting better dancers who hit the bottom 2 go

Sean would have been LONG gone if that was actually the case ... he’s a terrible dancer, and conservatives keep voting for him as a goof ...
I am a great fan of this show.
Sean is awkward and it appears they are deliberately giving him silly outfits.
But President Trump asked America to vote for Sean and he’s still own when much better dancers have been sent home.
BUT HEY....he’s got a pleasant disposition. Len, the grouchball coach, can’t stand Sean.
He did a great tribute in a recent dance remembering a lost loved one. He’s a good sport about the silly outfits.
And AMERICA’S NOT SENDING HIM HOME!!!!

Why would they do such a thing?
I guess they think if they put him in enough clown suits, conservatives will stop voting for him. They’ll have to rig the show (I know THAT’S never been done before -— /sarc), in order to get rid of him. I bet the person who suggested putting him on the show, in the first place, has been fired and blacklisted, even if he did it as a joke.
Viewership is 90% Deplorable for DWTS.
Remind the Democrats complaining that this is being held under “Chicago” voting rules!
Well, it IS a popularity contest, not a talent show.
On Monday night’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” judge Len Goodman looked like he finally was out of patience with Sean Spicer.
“We keep throwing you out the boat and the viewers keep throwing a life preserver,” he wearily told President Trump’s former press secretary after Spicer’s less-than-stellar jazz routine to Styx’s “Come Sail Away.” The studio audience didn’t know how to react to that comment — there was a mix of applause and boos.
With that, Spicer advanced to the Top 6. Given that there was a similar phenomenon in 2010 with contestant Bristol Palin, as a strong conservative fan base helped get her to the final three in the season finale, it wouldn’t be too shocking if this pattern continues.
It’s ridiculous to politucize this. Utterly so. Members of both sides that vote him due to politics are dishonest.

Better dancers have frequently been voted off. This is not a dance competition. Viewers who want to watch dance competitions should watch the PBS American Ballroom Challenge. DWTS is a combination dance competition/popularity contest. Better dances have been voted off before their time because viewers perceived them as ringers (coming on the show with a dance background), because they’re not likable, and other reasons.
I don’t know if it still exists, but there used to be a website/group called “VoteForTheWorst” that encouraged people to vote for the worst contestant on American Idol, The Voice, and other shows where viewers could vote. They were successful in keeping some fairly awful contestants around for much longer than they deserved to be there.
It’s a popularity contest, NOT a talent contest.

I wonder if this is a reflection of how people will vote ... i.e., if they like Sean Spicer, they must like Trump.
We should encourage Sarah Huckabee Sanders to join the next season of DWTS just to find out ... :)
I’ve never watched an episode of this show. Has it really been on 20 something years?? I’m considering voting though just to see what happens!
