I use my key to lock/unlock; I carry the fob in my pocket in case I happen to lock the key inside.

I tried that once when working a 12 hour night shift in very cold weather. Started the car in the morning to let it warm up/defrost for a while before heading home. Went to unlock the car with the fob but it would not work. Could not believe it! Car idled for about an hour before i was able to get my spare key!
