getting an early start

Chapman is a bum. He will always be a bum. He constantly gets way behind in the count and poor control for a “star” closer. Did you see him smiling on the mound after he gave up the home run? They should get rid of him ASAP.
Okay Okay. The Yankees lost. Washington hasn’t seen a World Series game since 1933. The Nat’s originally were the Montreal Expos. Houston started as the Colt 45’s in 1962. Washington in seven games. Disclaimer: all sport betting advice proffered by fhayek should be dismissed out of hand...
Nash have serious pitching going in but the Astros heart is bigger
Nats
The New York Yankees have 27 World Series titles to their name. The next team has (the Cards btw) 11. It would probably take a hundred years if ever for any team to overtake them. Still for those of us not Yankee fans we get our jollies when and where we can. :)
20th Century history is interesting, but we live in the 21st Century.
If going by 21st century WS championships the Yankees have either 1 or 2 depending on if you count 2000 or not. Red Sox and Giants have 3 each. The Cards have 2 and 8 other teams have 1 with Houston potentially getting number 2 this year.
2000 was the last year of the 20th Century. Math.
The Red Sox have won four in the 21st Century.
2004
2007
2013
2018
ok...my error...Red Sox rule the 21st then
So far
So the 21st century table so far not counting the year 2000.
Red Sox 4
Giants 3
Cards 2
Yanks, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Royals, Astros, Phillies, White Sox, Marlins and Angels 1 each.
Chapman Chapman Chapman.
I know its hard to root for a team from DC.... but.... the Nationals have been playing like a team of destiny. Dominating starting pitching and timely hitting will establish that. Im a lifelong Orioles fan but my daughter lives in The District and we have been to a number of Nats games the last several seasons. Its good to see them succeed.
They are going to be huge underdogs versus Houston.... but one never knows!
About what?
Well, so far I’m 50% for the MLB playoffs.
My World Series take is Houston should win. Their win in Saturday night’s game six means they’ll have a rested Cole and Verlander for games one & two.
I also think that although Houston is statistically better than the NYY, I think the NYY could have swept Washington. I think it’ll take more than that for Houston to win.
Great ALCS - it was really the World Series (they sure celebrated like it was) since they were the two best teams left in the playoffs after the Dodges bombed.
:)
I missed the Eric Cooper death news, only 52, blood clot after surgery, tragic.
bad post-op care.
.......
Come one, come all.
WS thread!
5-3 Nats bottom of the 7th game 1 but the Astros are threatening.
