MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A jury in Wisconsin has awarded $450,000 to the father of a boy killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting after he filed a defamation lawsuit against conspiracy theorist writers who claimed the massacre never happened.

My sister lost her boy, decomposed body found in woods.
She kept a stiff upper lip all thru the funeral & wake, even laughed at funny memories shared by visitors.
A week later the shock wore off & she totally lost it, wailing uncontrollably behind closed doors.
She still managed to pull it together in public, because that’s how we were taught— we don’t weep in public.
What right do have to view gore when not one of your children were involved?
Where does the government obtain the power to cover up images because they are gory?
There is gore all over the culture. It is hard to find many films that do *not* have gore.
But real life gore is somehow seen as illegitimate. Why?
What reason is there to "protect" people from reality?
I suspect it is to maintain the illusion that we are not going to die.
But, in fact, everyone dies.
It would be easy enough to cover faces to protect identities.
Can I call up your boss and tell him you're stealing from the company? Can I call up the police and say that there's kiddie porn on your computer? I mean, there might be the slightest chance that those are true.
The law in the U.S. is-- and has been since the Founding-- that you are civilly liable if you say something about someone which is false and hurts their reputation. Depending on the circumstances, sometimes the defendant has to prove that what he said is true and sometimes the plaintiff has to prove it's false. Additionally, under current law (which Justice Thomas disagrees with) there are some cases in which the plaintiff also has to prove that the defendant knew what he was saying was false, or at least said it recklessly. But "there is the slightest chance that it's true" isn't a defense to defamation.

If Sandy Hook was an honest massacre, then why demolish the school, why attack Alex Jones and why not interview the people who showed up the news videos several times with different names and uniforms?
Sandy Hook Promise wishes “to help end the epidemic of school shootings.”
“Epidemic” is an adjective for “widespread” and “mushrooming.” Since 1970 there have been about 1000 school shootings averaging about 24 school shootings a year. There are 37,000 high schools in America.
Thus, the rare cases of school shootings are not an epidemic and are an absence of protection.
This wasn't a lawsuit against Alex Jones. It was a lawsuit against James Fetzer, author of the book "Nobody Died at Sandy Hook," in which he accused the plaintiff in this case of forging his son's death certificate.

Do you not understand there are copycat killers who get off on such stuff? Adam Lanza was one. He kept detailed spreadsheets of mass shootings, kill ratios, logistics, where most bodies were found, etc. Copycats USE this info to plan their own shooting sprees.

Numerous interior Columbine photos & recordings— including those of Harris & Klebold, both alive, as they were stalking victims & dead, —are online. Those photos & recordings have been cited as reason WHY such stuff should NOT be made public.
I sympathize completely with the parents who beg that their children’s bodies be spared this further defilement.
It doesn’t help when the state seals all the records from the public. I don’t trust this government at all. They hide evidence and try to take away our rights at the same time.

A full report is online with many, many photos of both kill sites -— the entire inside of both the school & Lanza’s mother’s home, with broken glass, bullet marks, weapons, spent casings, even some blood.
The photos of the bodies are IN the report— so their placement in chronological order is determinable— but have been redacted from the online publication. Ghouls just can’t see the dead bodies online.
One MIGHT be able to see them at the offline physical site where the archive actually resides, but I’m betting you’d need proof of a very good reason, in order to do so.
OTOH the redacted photos might be sealed for a certain time, at request of family, just as certain info WRT the JFK assassination remains sealed until 2025, as per request of Jackie.

As for autopsy photos, NOBODY’s autopsy photos (as opposed to typed reports) are supposed to be online, and those that are, arw leaked by forensics employees, often resulting in those employees being fired.
The little boy Noah Pozner— whose father won this defamation case— in fact had half his face & one of his hands blown off.
This was widely reported during the coverage of the childrens’ funerals.
His parents had an open coffin, with his wounds covered by a prayer cloth. Attendees at the private funeral all saw the extent of the child’s injuries.
But of course the ghouls will continue to insist the parents are “crisis actors” because they didn’t allow the news media to photograph their dead child’s body or shove cameras & microphones in the faces of funeral attendees — which believe me, would have resulted in a ratings windfall, but the news people knew that even attempting this stunt would have resulted in everlasting condemnation.
The right to trample on the bodies of children, and their loved ones? Do the parents have right to privacy to mourn their dead? Do they have a right to not be constantly reminded of what happened by having the school demolished, or should they have waited until he crack investigative team on FR was satisfied? Do they have a right live their lives without ghouls wanting to see pictures of their dead kids? Maybe they can carry wallet-sized photos and show the sickos pictures of their shot up kids, because God knows, you have that right.

There are LOTS of unhinged people with an anti-life agenda who would seize on false, defamatory statements about you broadcast by a “celebrity” such as AJ as an excuse to act out— to stalk, threaten, even harm you or your family.
And you’re suggesting, not only you wouldn’t sue out of respect for his free speech “right” to spread lies, but you’d be grateful for the attention?
