From when I first read about drones, they definitely seemed a two edged sword.

Here is the article: Controlling UAV Drone Intrusions, dated April 5, 2016... where did the time go? :)

The Security New Desk describes a hi tech system - AUDS (Anti-UAV Defense System) - manufactured by Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems:

The Anti-UAV Defence System (AUDS) integrates the Blighter A400 Series Ku band electronic scanning air security radar, Chess Dynamics’ stabilised electro-optic director, infrared and daylight cameras and target tracking software, and a directional radio frequency (RF) inhibitor/jammer system from Enterprise Control Systems to detect, track, classify, disrupt and neutralise UAVs at ranges of up to 8km. The AUDS system is even effective against so-called Group 1 micro UAVs at ranges of up to 2km and Group 1 mini UAVs at ranges of several kms.

This is likely close to the invisible shield mentioned earlier being used by the Border Patrol.

Another hi tech system is made by LiteEye which offers a variety of choices to defend against drone intrusions. They make a highly mobile system.

Police have a more portable system.

Smaller home systems are also being developed.

The anti-drone defense technology is growing.
