It’s already 5-0 in the top of the third.

Yep. It is set. With Verlander and Cole and their eight everyday players, I can’t pick against the Astros. The Rays gave them a scare... maybe they woke them up? Cole was fantastic tonight.

The Astros could not hit and could not pitch during the two games in Tampa and burned all their starting arms.

It’s going to be tough for them to get past the Yankees.

Cole was fantastic tonight.

And deserves the Cy Young. Forget Verlander's no hitter. Cole has not lost a game since MAY 22! Tied record More than 10 Ks the past 10 straight games. Other insane stats.

As a Pirates fan I am rooting for Cole to win a World Series ring!

I lost interest in the American League when they went to the dh. As a kid I could name the Yankee lineup in the days of Mantle and Maris. Nearly drove granddad nuts. He was Cardinals fan in the days of Bob Gibson and the guys. Now I’m the Cards fan and can’t name a player on the Yanks or the Astros. 60 years has made a heck of a difference in me. My interest now lays in who faces off during the World Series, but I’ll be glued in to the NLCS.

I have to say... watch out for the Nationals. With Scherzer and Strasburg they can win any series. The bullpen is their Achilles heel but they overcame that against the Dodgers.

Before this week I could not name a single Rays player.

The Final Four are Yankees, Astros, Nationals, and Cardinals.

The Nationals have never been to a World Series.

The last World Series with a Washington team was 1933.

History could be made as these playoffs continue.

A lot of the sports guys I heard have talked about the Dodgers meltdown vs. Washington. Upsets happen in the world of sports. Stay tuned .

This Yankee lineup looks dominant on paper, but it’s filled with hitters who are prone to getting shut down by good pitchers. If the Astros don’t give up a bunch of home runs we may even see a couple of shutouts in a series where the Yankees hit .090 with runners in scoring position.

Yes they do. One-hundred-and-six regular season wins doesn't get you anything in the postseason except for home field advantage. And the postseason also tends to expose and magnify any team weaknesses.

I know it's tough to root for a team from Washington. But my daughter lives and works in The District and we have attended a number of games over the past few years. So I'm glad the Nats won and will be rooting for them to get to The Series too.

I read that the post season points out the weakness of judging on win/loss records. The Nats had to fight for a wildcard spot. The Cards fought for the division till game 162. Both played in very tough divisions. It stacks up to appear to be a great series. The Astros/Yanks will probably be good too but I can’t keep up with both leagues. It’s a lot more entertaining then nightly TV crap.
