POTUS as CIC can order troops to be wherever he wants them to be. Congress has no control over the military except declaring war (which they have refused to do). POTUS has them by the short hairs.

but someone needs to ask:
Why did I — a guy from Northern Virginia — have to come to the city of Baltimore to pick up trash?
Why did I have to come from the East Coast to Los Angeles to clean up 50 tons of trash?

I love Mulvaney...He’s doing the White House presser today. He has a quick wit and very smart. For the third year in a row my winter caregiving has disappeared
3 years ago I have a sweet deal lined up. Woman 83 did NOT want to go with her children to Europe for 5 months. Her house and they lived with her. She engaged me. I could have Lucy and my kitty Charmy. She also had a dog and cat & would not be able to take them She was active had no desire to go to Erupore and be stuck in a hotel for most of the time while her son & DIL went out partying....and we had talked about how I would do a weekly meal for her groups. One week bridge club, one week book group, one week movie & snacks and one week grandkids. We had fun planning.
AND she was going to pay me $2,000 month out of her pocket. The kids were enraged. They threatened her, called in social services and said if she didn’t agree to go with them they would put her in a mental facility for demential. She told me they were afraid she would like me too much and change her will
the badgered the poor woman to death and she finally very reluctantly agreed to go. She left the cat in the home and boarded the dog. The dog died after a week in the kennel. The first time the pet sitter came to check the cat it ran out to never be seen again.
She returned a broken woman and very angry with her daughter in law who was the force of control.
YEAR 2. Another nice deal lined up. but only 500/month and next to nothing to do except meals, drive to docs and provide company. She died 5 days before I was to start
Year 3 (the present) Had been in conversation with two neighbors children. My parents were among the original settlers in this subdivision. Only 2 remain. One lives 3 houses down and the other next door 4 houses down. Man 89 and women 92. Both widowed. The discussion with kids was IF I WAS ABLE physically (and frankly at this point I can hardly take care of myself) I would take care of both.. live with the woman, and check up and provide meals and doc appt transportation for both. $250/each a month. Tuesday night the man died heart attack. The next day the kids put the woman in a memory/dementia home. She had really deteriorated the past several weeks and could not be left alone at any time
SOOOO... the long and short of it is I am again back to square one. Really desiring an income stream but thinking God doesn’t agree.
I really don’t mind the van. I have a quality sleeping bag good for -35F. My two kitties CB N Targy sleep with me. NOT ideal but any means but it fits the budget for now. I might work something out with Jen. It is a difficult situation with her although she is a friend and wants to help. She just doesn’t want a roomie after 40 years of living alone. Now and then a visit overnight is fine and she loves my cooking.
