Liberty is the true wealth and even if you like comfort and money (which aren’t always bad) you will lose both if you sell your liberty.
On the other end of things you have the anarchists who think that you can keep your liberty without any collective cooperation or with group sizes too small to survive against larger enemies.
Balance in all things is key.

That’s probably how it started and that would have been a good thing.
But somebody probably noticed that their position as the leader was vastly improved by the centralization and decided to take it farther and farther until it didn’t work and caused a collapse.

But seriously, the electric bill is much less, in fact non-existent. :)
There are almost no natural defensive barriers on the plains of Ukraine.
