They should not be mainstreamed but public schools need to have them in specialized classrooms with adequate staff. We could afford more help for our own kids if the schools weren’t full of illegals and anchors.
It took a parent of a special needs child (The parent was a judge) to push our school district to have an in district class for autistic/special needs student. Very grateful for that parent. Students with more serious needs are sent outside the district.
