Lower carb is the best way to go.

We don’t eat bread, pasta, rice, sugar or corn syrup-sweetened items, or cereals, or naturally higher carb foods (corn, for instance). We do have some lower glycemic load items like plums, watermelon, blueberries, black or blueberries, or peaches (lower glycemic value for the serving size).

We have family members with diabetes and we have said we will do what we can to prevent it before getting such a condition.

Our jobs prevent us from burning any appreciable calories. If we were active, we’d have little issue with having more carbs.

Eating low or lower carb takes one’s appetite away except for when you are truly hungry. That’s a good way to sustain yourself properly and lose some weight.

Add strawberries to the fruit list.

Forgot to do so.

Don’t be so sure of that. Watch some videos by Dr. Noakes, who’s run 75 marathons (and even longer races). His health took a dive, right into diabetes - which killed his father.

In any case, you’re certainly doing the right thing now!
