I think we tend to look for the presence of something as the cause for evil in the world. In fact it's an absence (hence: forgive them for they know not what they do.) You might say the devil hides because he's not a presence of evil so much as he is an absence of consciousness i.e. light i.e. the light of God.
What causes a plane to stay in the air? Low pressure above it. What causes this girl to kill and toss her baby aside like trash? Low Consciousness.
To believe a lie is pretty much the same as an absence of consciousness, if we say that 'to be conscious' implies to be conscious of what is and what's real, rather than something else.
The left (and all of mankind is doing it to some extent all the time - original sin ... ) ... but the left replaces 'what is' with intellectual masks and rationalizations. The followers believe the lies, the liars lie because they believe lies. Then end result is the same.
