Yamhill County’s Board of Commissioners approved a series of diversity training classes Thursday after debating the merits earlier in the month, when two of three board members argued that the training should not include the phrases “white privilege” or “microaggressions.”
After opposition Aug. 6 and again Tuesday, the training was approved in McMinnville in a 2-1 vote. After the vote, Commissioner Mary Starrett said over email that she voted no on “a training that would have included training on ‘White Privilege,’ ” but that the other board members approved it.(snip)
Starrett said the training had “red flags” and included “a tsunami of political correctness.”
She took issue with the very concept of white privilege.
“If we want to talk about white privilege,” Starrett said, “I look at some statistics here that white men commit suicide at twice the rate of black men. To me, it just seems then that more whites than blacks consider life not worth living.”
“If you were to look at all the metrics for Asians,” she continued, “they have better credit scores, they have more wealth, they do better on IQ tests. We could talk about Asian privilege.”
“So I think that when we talk about equity and diversity and we start out with the premise that white privilege is inherent in this underlying racism we all have. I don’t think this is something that we want to require all of our employees to be subjected to.”(snip)
On Tuesday, Kulla appeared to be the only one of the all-white Board of Commissioners that saw a need for the training.
“If the phrase is of concern but the content is still important,” he told the other commissioners, “then even if you use other words to talk about it, you’re still talking about white privilege.”

The more the Dems go on about white privilege, the more you’re gonna see whites migrate towards the GOP. I hope that this trend accelerates as we head towards 2020.

Sounds like Yamhill County’s Board of Commissioners need to be fired, removed from office, and never again allowed to hold ANY position of authority.
Respectfully, I don’t believe that.
This has been going on for a LONG TIME.
It’s like saying the more you see the dems go on about gay marriage or on about abortion, the more people are gonna go to the Rs.
If one doesn’t KNOW the dems’ stance on “white privilege” already, then they never will.
In fact, MANY white dems love the idea of hating themselves and their families for being white.
Where do I apply to get this training on how to become a “white supremacist”? I would like to know how best to express this white privilege I supposedly possess.... < /sarcasm >
I NEVER intend to be ashamed of being of Northern European origin. For one thing, nobody can do a thing about who your ancestors may have been, as that is something that is immutable in every cell of your body, and for another, failure to take pride in one’s genetic heritage is a sin against nature at the very least, and flouts the purpose of freedom altogether.
One day, something will happen which will do away with all of the delusions which have been constructed to give certain elites all the power over the population, so they can decide who should be enslaved, who should be free and who should, unfortunately, be eradicated. Out of that will come war and devastation which will promote those who know how to do commonplace things to the head of the pack because commonplace wisdom will be the survival tool. All of these imaginations will be history because they only exist in the evil part of human hearts for some kind of personal benefit. When basic survival is the goal, things change.

We had friends move to McMinnville from the San Fran Bay Area and we briefly looked at the area as a retirement spot about eight years ago. We decided to go to Idaho instead of Oregon or Washington. That decision is looking better and better.
A lot of whites like this stuff
White Athletes (NHL, NBA,etc), actors, etc.
White Canadians do this as well (Trudeau)
POP works, too (Person of Pallor)
I don’t get collective self hatred.
But whatever floats one’s boat :)
White college kids love the feeling.
Doctors get the only white privilege I know of.
I’m low income.
I think they’ve got me down as pink and tan.
