We’ve had relatively small industrial development projects stopped by NIMBY’s even out here in Lyon.
We used to have a slaughter house and attendant jobs here, until McMansions popped up next door.
Dairy expansion is on hold.
These same NIMBY’s complain there are no jobs locally for their kids.
But also apparently think spending 3+ hours a day commuting to and from Tesla is OK.
Probably seems normal to them, being from Ca-Ca land.
I don’t know what can be done about it within reason.
I do know I cannot just “Move” to escape it!
I understand. The amount of unaffordable housing construction going on in Reno is ridiculous.
