He is still dead. And I’m right here.
I was on the toilet when the news broke. Guess I am luckier than Elvis.
Elvis isn’t dead; he’s in witness protection.
I was working on a US flag merchant ship, “The Alex Stepens,” owned by the Waterman Steamship Company out of Mobile, Alabama. We were either in Bombay, India or heading back to New Orleans.
I was 8 years old and riding in the very back of a 1969 Ford Country Squire Station wagon going to get dropped off at my cousin’s place for one last week of summer fun before returning to school. The announcement came on the car radio that Elvis was dead.
I was at the old Myrtle Square Mall in Myrtle Beach. I was seven. That being said I swear I saw him at the Circle K this morning.
I have no idea where I was when Elvis died. I remember where I was when JFK, both parents and 2 of 3 of my dead brothers passed. I almost forgot. I remember where I was when John Lennon was murdered.
I was working a summer job at a bank in Closter, NJ when a friend of mine pulled up to the drive thru window, she told me Elvis was dead.
I was on the toilet
I remember Lennon too. Was actually watching Monday Night Football when Cosell called it. I was in Kindergarten when Kennedy as shot. Just don’t remember it. Wish I could.
Now that’s funny! Thanks. :)
Was working at Pop Tunes music store just down the street from Graceland.
I was an oilfield contractor and was just starting a small manufacturing business in south Houston.

This is true: I was on the road playing rock and roll, and our singer came in (he thought very highly of Elvis) and was frantic. “Elvis is dead.”
I was riding around getting wasted with my friend Doyle.
We heard it in the radio then went to my house and it was breaking on the tv news.
We sparked up a doobie in his honor.
Elvis would be proud of you stoners, you and Doyle. LOL
In my car, driving to A&S department store. All the radio stations were playing Elvis songs and I wondered if he died. Sure enough.
Having wet dreams of Olivia Newton John.
