Plugs doesn’t have the stamina for a hard-fought primary. He’s aged 15 years in the last 5 years.

Doesn’t matter...

Dem Primary boils down to the whackadoos vs status quo.

That’s it.

Blacks currently aren’t showing they are willing to support any of the whackadoos... they are getting their support from mainly white liberal guilt D voters... the Black voting block thus far seems to be holding with the status quo candidate. As are most of the non whackadoo D primary voters (which vastly outnumber the full on whackadoos.)

Dems are lining up for a 1972 redux.... They can’t win, but if they go all in on left wing whackdoo they will do even worse.

I agree Plugs doesn’t excite anyone... but he also does alienate anyone either... All the firebrand whackdos alienate more than they attract.. particularly in the general.

Reality is, short of black swan event... Dems best case are about 15 states plus DC... they put up a whackadoo, they will be hard pressed to win 10 sates plus DC.

Will Plugs be the nominee? I don’t know, but it comes down to him or someone like him... or some whackadoo... Dems lose either way, but plugs will keep the loss from going too far down ballot... Anyone else in the clown car, and the Dems get slaughtered down ballot as well.

Time will tell, but as I have said elsewhere, doesn’t matter who the D’s nominate, its a lost cause for them in terms of winning the White House.... the D nominees primary job is to keep the base from becoming dejected and saving the down ballot.
