PART THREE - AI SUPPLEMENTAL DIG

In PART TWO, after peering into the mindset and perspective of one of the “great lights” of AI, Ray Kurzweil, and the way it seemed he was going to program an AI named Danielle. [He actually does not say that he is programming an AI... that was my deduction.]

I have been conscious of being rather unsettled at the prospect of AI in our future. From our Q digs, and from my digs on AI in particular, it appears that the people working on it do not seem at all to be very kind to the population of humans on earth. I found another article on that qz.com web site. In it they are telling me why I should not be afraid.

[I have only one freebie article left from them this month.]

DON’T FEAR THE AI
The Quartz guide to artificial intelligence: What is it, why is it important, and should we be afraid?
By Dave Gershgorn September 10, 2017

Near the end of the article, after they put forth their most persuasive arguments, they say this:

“…Should we be afraid of AI?
After watching movies like Terminator, it’s easy to be scared of an all-powerful, evil AI like Skynet. In the AI research world, Skynet would be referred to as general superintelligence, or artificial general intelligence—software that’s more powerful than the human brain in every way. Since computers are able to scale, meaning we can make bigger, faster computers and link them together, the fear is that the power of these robot brains would grow to an unfathomable level. If they’re that smart, they’d be uncontrollable and circumvent any human attempts to shut them off. That’s the DOOMSDAY SCENARIO THAT ELON MUSK AND STEPHEN HAWKING—immensely smart people—worry about. DESPITE THEIR INTELLIGENCE WITHIN CERTAIN DOMAINS, MOST MAINSTREAM AI RESEARCHERS DISCOUNT THE IDEA OF “SUMMONING THE DEMON,” AS MUSK HAS SAID….”

Well, yeah... they are so arrogant, they WOULD discount that.

As things are now, put me in the Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking AI School of Thought.

HOWEVER

Our POTUS has mentioned wanting AMERICAN and the PATRIOTS to be first and foremost in the development of AI. I would be much more comfortable with AI, if I knew that the Patriots are in charge and “have it all.” I believe they would make sure there are guardrails.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This fear is misplaced.

Computers are not ever going to gain human-like consciusness.

The ACTUAL FEAR should be for what is ALREADY HERE: Humans are forced to dumb down to the level of computers, to be measured against the only things computers do well ... rapid computations, carrying out regimented series of steps, unlimited memory of every act a la Chinese "social credit" system.

People like Hawking who have one freakish skill--in his case the arcane mathematics of contemporary physics--are no more qualified for social commentary than someone whose great skill is dunking a basketball.

Tex, great series of digs on AI over the weekend. Thank you!

As I read your findings, my mind went down a rabbit hole.

No doubt there is global competition to develop advanced AI. Commercial, industrial, academic, etc.

What would frighten me is black hat vs. white hat competition. Black hats would want to use technology to control the cattle (us).

If the cabal is working on AI, then guarantee it will be for nefarious purposes. Isn’t there always some of the creator in the creation?

Just a little stray voltage. I’ll have to chew on that a bit more. I’m convinced AI wielded by the cabal would be dangerous on a whole new level.
