We will never know or be able to quantify how many legislative acts were made and how many court decisions were handed down that were based on trying to keep someone and some thing from being “found out”.
I don’t know how many times during Barko’s regime I said WTF when the “opposition” rolled over and peed on the floor and let him have his way. Of course, it almost goes without having to mention it that the greatest WTF Hall of Fame scream belongs to Justice Roberts and his OboCare ruling. It makes my head spin wondering about how much different history would be if righteous and honest men held sway in the past 50 years.

I agree with your comments. I’ve made the same points in many conversations. I had a conversation with my son once when I asked him how he thought fed/state leaders pick the people they appoint to positions of leadership. His answer was what I would expect from most, based upon education, work history, specific experience, background check, etc. I explained those qualities play a small part only to satisfy the public eye. In reality, they are chosen based on how malleable they are. Can they be used as a tool to be molded into doing what they want?
