To be entertaining is part of the plan, aka the Q psyop.
Everyone (well, most anyway) loves a good mystery.
Everyone loves a puzzle.
Everyone loves to be let in on secrets of people in high places.
Everyone (except "critical theory" commies) likes a story with heroes, and with a happy ending.
The purpose of Q, I am convinced, is to work as an alternate communications channel allowing POTUS to go completely around the traitorous, socialist media.
To do this, the alternate channel needs to attract millions of people, many of whom are willing to pay very close attention.
Entertainment, intrigue and mystery are part of this; but, as acceptance sets in other factors come into play ... more important factors ... such as: patriotism, duty and honor.
But it starts with curiosity, and with entertainment value.
And the alternate channel is not just a psyop ... it's for information as well ... so that when future events happen--some very complex events--they will not come as much of a surprise to at least one highly informed segment of the population. These can serve as the conduit for even wider understanding and comprehension.
There's more to the strategy: To provide access to CLASSIFIED MATERIAL, the Trump team speaking as Q or Q+ gives CLUES to this highly motivated, highly informed audience of anons, FReeQs etc.
With questions, gestures to look at certain people and places, highlighting of certain public information that would otherwise remain obscure and ignored ... and so on ... Q DISCLOSES CLASSIFIED INFORMATION LEGALLY.

This may be controversial to say, but I'm not shy, so I'll say it.
Everybody, even trolls, have their place in this circus and serve a purpose. The "Q thing" is the most honest reflection of real life we have been provided with, after decades, if not centuries, of derp state fakery.
All the ugliness, bad words, repugnant pictures, gross stories, fighting, trolling, drama, and otherwise 'not pretty' things we have witnessed on this thread and the world as of late entertains and captures our eyes and attention.
Attention is the enemy of derpiness.
