Hmm, so you’re saying that if Pelosi was telling US citizens to disobey laws and resist LE, that would be sedition and insurrection?

What about various Dem mayors (and maybe other people) who instruct cops to not comply with ICE as it goes about its duty to deport and/or incarcerate illegals? What crime are the Dem mayors etc committing?

What crime is it to instruct and advise illegals who are in violation of LE to resist and continue to violate law?

Is it just obstruction of justice as Publius commented? This topic is interesting because I have no legal knowledge so I am curious what those who are informed have to say.

I believe that if they acted on the “cry to havoc” then Pelosi would be fomenting the crimes and liable to be prosecuted for them as a “leader”.

No, that's civil disobedience. Civil rights and antiwar demonstrators did that all the time, both encouraging people to do it and actually doing it. That is subject to criminal penalties, but it's not sedition or insurrection.

If Pelosi calls for armed resistance -- and that armed resistance to law enforcement actually happens -- then we're talking about insurrection.

No crime. Federal law enforcement officers cannot compel obedience from state, county or local authorities unless so ordered by a court -- or unless the President invokes the Insurrection Act of 1807. That's a big step, and it would be accompanied by federalizing the state's National Guard and handing such duties over to them.

Obstruction of justice.
