He is ruthless and will kill even a media adversary.
But he IS pushing Christianity because he knows it is the only way to get family together and having kids again and because he knows his country needs it to survive.
He understands the dangers of islam (even though both HE and US have friends in the ME) and he recently said it’s crazy to let people run across a porous border.
I don’t trust him and I wouldn’t want to be his political enemy.

For some reason I believe Putin would be gone soon, and more likely the entire system would follow taking down the entire project to reform the Russian society conservative way.
The only reason why he is holding now is because of all that attacks by the West. The general population sees that Obama administration and Clintons wanted replacement and since they know some history they’ve chosen to back Putin before anything CIA has to offer.
Actually no, he is pushing the old KGB instrument, the Russian Orthodox, and persecuting evangelicals under the premise of combating terrorism. And yet many on Fr commend him.
Of course, we would elect a able Pharisee today (if we could) over a liberal, and we can agree with Putin on conservative issues, but to think that he is an ally to Christianity and the West is delusion, and which he is able at.
